Using games with high school learners can enhance students’ performance and create a motivational atmosphere despite the general idea that exams have to be a ‘serious business’. They can help learners acquire and consolidate advanced vocabulary and develop productive skills. Games are as efficient with advanced learners as they are with younger ones, and they are as useful a tool in language preparation as any other “more serious” method.

Teodora Naiba started her teaching career in 1999 in Cluj-Napoca and has extensive experience in exam preparation from working with students in 'Gheorghe Sincai' Bilingual High School for more than twelve years. She is also an examiner for international boards, a teacher educator, a trainer of trainers and she has been working as an e-moderator for British Council online courses for more than twelve years. Playing as a form of learning the language but also of developing life skills has been one of her main areas of interest in teaching.
