Located in the lush green suburbs of Wolverhampton, The Royal School is at the crossroads between British rural landscapes and the second largest city in the kingdom, Birmingham. This gives students the opportunity to experience typical British housing contrasts. The school dates back to 1850, and the school's students come from all over the UK and the European Economic Area, creating a successful cultural diversity.

The school offers a good preparation especially in subjects such as natural sciences and mathematics. The Royal School can be proud of the students' results, yet it is a non-selective school, but with the resources necessary to prepare students for admission to Oxbridge and the top universities in the UK or abroad.

The school campus covers an area of 25 acres, and for the benefit of its students, significant investments have been made in the sports complex. Since September 2016, the school has received a grant from the British government, so that both British and European students benefit from free tuition, parents will pay the accommodation tax and meals and additional costs.

Accommodation
The school chimneys give the students a family environment. Younger students are accommodated, depending on gender and age, in rooms with two or three beds. Depending on seat availability, Sixth Form students may benefit from individual rooms. Each room is furnished with cabinets and offices for individual study. In each house there are common rooms, where students can meet and socialize. Meals are varied and are served in the school canteen. Students may remain on campus during the interim quarterly holidays, except for summer vacations.
