Established in 1914 as the Central School of Science and Technology, it is rapidly developing to become one of the first universities in the UK to offer computer programs in the 1960s. Starting with 2013, with the launch of the Science Center, it is positioned as one of the excellent institutions in the UK in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Staffordshire is divided into six departments: Business, Leadership and Economics; Computing and Digital Technologies; Creative Arts and Engineering; Health and Social Care; Law, Policing and Forensics; Life Sciences and Education.

The University has created study programs based on interinstitutional partnerships that maximize potential of students - they have training opportunities both locally, nationally and globally.
